The Summer of Love

The articles focus on the Summer of 1967, affectionately dubbed 'The Summer of Love'. While there was violence at some points, it succeeded at multiple points. The author's point is to bring attention to the actions of the Summer of Love. The major symbol is the use of love. That summer was mainly the love of love, drug use, freedom, non-conformity, and peace. The author's tone is reminiscent of the old 60s freedom.

This summer was critical to the evolution of the counterculture. It brought attention to the once-small group of citizens that fought in their own way against Vietnam and war. It promotes the use of drugs and free sexuality, but it also brought peace to the forefront of many minds. It brought about the social change we now see today in our music and art.
