60s and 70s Technology / Part One

Gotta love the old rotary dial phones that came in gorgeous bright colors! They came in a variety of sytles and colors to accent any sort of desire!

Typerwriters! They are still popular even to this day. Heck, I even have one! They changed how news was spread and gave every individual the chance to write. It made secretaries have an easier time writing; it gave newspapers a faster print time.

60s Counterculture Photos *Contains war images*

60s Television

Many good television shows came out in the sixties: Batman, I Dream of Jeanie, Bewitched, Original Star Trek, Adam-12, and, the best for last, Doctor Who. Many of these had a huge impact on the counterculture. Even to this day, those actors emerged from simple television shows to become great actors that implanted themselves onto brains of the world. Here, let me give you a snapshot back into the 60s...

Farrah Fawcet

Playing in shows such as The Flying Nun, I Dream of Jeanie, The Six Million Doller Man, and Charlie's Angels, she jumped from show to show happily. She was only on C'sA for a season before leaving, getting her sued by the producers of the show. She ended up coming back for six episodes.

Dick York

He is one of my favourite actors even in the 21st century. His father Bernard was a salesman. His mother worked as a seamstress and later operated a beauty shop. The family moved from Indiana to Chicago when he was ten.

Sean Connery

Almost everyone's favourite Bond, Sean Connery was in seven differnet James Bond movies: Diamonds are Forever, Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Never Say Never Again, Thunderball, and You Only Live Twice. He's actually knighted, so that makes him automatically epic.

Vivien Leigh

America's darling Scarlet O'Hara, Vivien Leigh was in numerous movies besides Gone with the Wind, such as A Streetcar Named Desire, Ship of Fools, Anna Karenina, Caeser and Cleopatra, and The Extraordinary Seaman. Vivien Leigh and Lawrence Olivier met and fell in love while filming Fire Over England in 1937. They were both married at the time, and continued their affair until their respective spouses granted them divorces. Leigh and Olivier were married in 1940. Katharine Hepburn was one of only two witnesses.  She was also bipolar.

Mickey Rooney

In numerous movies, this beloved gentleman of theatre was one of those few greats with acting careers spanning over half a century. We all still mourn his beautiful soul passing from this world. His comic relief was huge in his Andy Hardy movies from his early acting career.

60s Fashion

Alright, guys, lots of fashion photos coming your way. Just a bit of the 60s Memorable Monday. Fashion was huge in the 60s. It helped push the counterculture forward with the outrageous trends that parents still don't approve of today: Crop tops, jump suits, those really short dresses, not to even mention poodle skirts.... Those are still the worse fashion decision ever to have been invented. Anyway, many fashions were made to push the limits of cultured society, to the point of breaking into the counterculture.

Counterculture slang

Counterculture Slang
Slang list

This is such a gas, y'all. I wish it could be aced, but I tried my best. All my generation is all show and no go, the shallow friggin barbie dolls. They're all around the bend, ya know? Thank god for the few that actually have the brains and use them to the point where common sense is barely alive with them. Should have the good 5% of common sense/street sense folk be put into office. Bail everyone out. Get real, ya'll. Enough with my beef on how shallow and obsessed my generation is with their phones. Just havin' a blast writin' this. Would do a friggin Chinese fire drill, while I'm at all this fun, but this dove's got no reason to get all hyped up on this new thing. Far out, dude. Join us flower children and kick with some friggin flower power, dudes. I'm friggin hip, dude. Got nothing but friggin' jack but school. It's far out, dude. I wonder if the friggin mop top will ever come back... Be peaceniks, dudes.

Alright, enough of that. I can't take how out there that slang of 60s is. Can't believe how baaaaaad it is to the ear! I think I broke my mind trying to speak in their slang.

Post your best try in the comments!
